Rewards Cards Versus Cash

Some people love using cash and swear against all the evils that plastic promotes. Others like me, however, find credit cards a smarter way of buying everything, from the smallest knick-knacks to a 50-inch plasma TV. My opinion is, if you take to credit card use wisely, you can derive so much more benefits than by simply transacting in cash.
If you regularly use rewards credit cards for your expenses all-year round in place of cash, you can literally earn thousands in rewards and rebates annually. Imagine when you start using the card for your business purchases too!
Credit cards are simply easier to carry than cash, with extra security accorded your way when the card is lost or stolen. If you absolutely don’t want to deal with the potential troubles of credit card debt, at least consider using a debit card when you shop - you get the same portable benefits without the risk of carrying paper currencies.
If you’ve decided that you want to use a rewards credit card for your purchases instead of cash, make sure to get yourself up to the task. There are plenty of people burdened with credit card debt for a reason: they are incredibly easy to mismanage. Make sure you educate yourself on the basics of good credit card use such as planning your purchases, paying off balances in full and prioritizing high-reward items (which will depend on the kind of rewards card you carry). Cash is good but credit beats it all the way to the bank!
